I gave you my EF Grand Tour of Ireland packing list, now it is time to rate all the things I wore on my Ireland trip for both fashion and practicality.
The Plane Outfit: Fashion 3/5 Weather safe 4/5
For my plane outfit, I wanted to wear something comfortable. I also wanted to wear my bulkier pieces. Therefore, on the plane, I wore velvet leggings, a sweater with a black hoodie on top, my black booties, and my white puffer jacket. It was a bit warmer when getting to Ireland so I took off my coat to explore Dublin. While walking around it was misty outside but I did not feel like carrying an umbrella.
Welcome Dinner/ Night 1 Outfit: Fashion 4/5 Weather safe 1/5
Sorry for another kissing photo, I did not get many photos in this outfit. While I adore the leather jacket mini skirt and sneakers combo, the weather in Ireland at night was FREEZING!! You will walk everywhere and I am pretty sure it drizzled at night too. Inside bars, I was comfy but walking the streets home and from bar to bar it was painfully cold and not worth this outfit. I wish I had more pictures in this outfit since I was suffering as I wore it through the temple bar area of Dublin!
Dublin Bus Tour: Fashion 4/5 Weather safe 3.5/5
I loved this outfit. I paired my black crop top with my black trousers, white sneaks, scarf, and blue peacoat. However, Ireland's winter is much too strong for a peacoat and crop top when the wind starts blowing. The day was spent primarily on a bus so this outfit was a good choice for this day. While it could not beat the elements, this outfit was perfect for inside the cathedral and lounging on the bus.
Guinness Storehouse Tour: Fashion 4/5 Weather Safe 5/5
This was the same day as the bus tour only I traded my purse for a fanny pack. I have found on EF trips fanny packs are for the win. I also learned my lesson from the wind earlier and opted for my giant white winter coat instead. I was warm the entire walk and chose to take my coat off during times I got a little warm inside of the storehouse.
Busing to Kilkenny: Fashion 2/5 Weather safe 5/5
I simply will never rate myself a 1 for fashion. Look at how cute this coat is!! But this day, I was going for warmth and not fashion. I wore a weather with jeans, a beanie, my white sneakers and my big puffer coat. It kept me warm and comfy all day. I also opted for no makeup on the busing days. I wasn't trying to impress anyone.
Hurling Lessons: Fashion 3/5 Weather safe 4/5
This outfit was a bit edgier than some of my others. I borrowed this very cool fur lined leather jacket and paired it with my jeans and a graphic tee. This outfit was for hurling lessons and time in a pub. Since we were mainly inside this outfit was perfect and I did not get too hot or cold. If I was outside longer, this would have been a poor choice.
Exploring Kilkenny: Fashion 5/5 Weather safe 4/5
This was my personal favorite outfit of the trip. It is a black sweather dress, with my booties, beret, and scarf. This was such a comfy outfit for exploring Kilkenny and I had my white puffer jacket on top too except for pictures. I loved all the pictures I got in this outfit in front of Kilkenny castle. And if you haven't noticed, I adore berets!
Blarney Castle: Fashion 5/5 Weather safe 3/5
Now you may be asking... is this the same outfit? And yes, it is. However, I let Michael use my scarf. This picture was from the same day and while the outfit was great for exploring Kilkenny, it was not so great for Blarney castle. Blarney is cold and wet and you have to lay down to kiss the blarney stone, so I would not recommend a dress. My dress was luckily long enough I did not flash anyone while getting the gift of gab.
New Years Eve: Fashion 5/5 Weather Safe 2/5
Vibes 5/5. I wore this glittery little dress with some rhinestone tights, a leather jacket, and the Chanel earrings I thrifted. This outfit was perfect to dance the night away in the nightclub but did not stand up to the cold of waiting in line or walking home. This outfit does not get a 1/5 because the tights made it a little better than my first night-out outfit.
Exploring Killarney: Fashion 4/5 Weather safe 3/5 after blue jacket 4/5
I started the day off in the black bodysuit, trousers, and leather jacket but quickly caught on that the leather jacket wouldn't cut it. Therefore, as we continued to explore Killarney, I switched into my blue peacoat for exploring Ross Castle. This day was warmer than most and I was comfortable in this duo.
Cliffs of Moher: Fashion 2/5 Weather Safe: 5/5
Last, the cliffs! This day was breezy, freezy, and sunny! I do not have a single good pic of me at the cliffs because I was squinty as can be. This day I wore a sweater and jeans with my scarf, gloves, beanie, and white sneakers. Make sure you have shoes you are okay getting muddy. I used every piece of warm clothing I had and still I could feel the chill. Dress warm!
