Being on TV has always been on my bucket list, and if I couldn't land a spot on TV, I figured soaking up the live atmosphere in the audience would be the next best thing. And guess what? It turned out to be even easier than I'd ever imagined!
With so many options out there, I decided to snag tickets to the Drew Barrymore show because, let's face it, Drew is an absolute gem. She's one of my all-time favorite actresses—sweet, genuine, and always trending in the best ways possible. So, armed with determination and a sprinkle of luck, I dove into the ticket-getting process. All I had to do was hop onto https://1iota.com/show/1217/the-drew-barrymore-show, pick a date, and voilà! A few days later, I got the golden email—I was in!
Now, let me tell you about the adventure that followed. The email came with a laundry list of do's and don'ts—what to wear (hint: think gem tones and cute trendy/business attire), when to arrive (early bird gets the worm, folks), and what not to bring (sorry, Drew, no gifts allowed!). It was like prepping for a Hollywood debut!
Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, my tickets got upgraded to priority status. Cue the happy dance! Priority meant we had to be at the CBS station bright and early, but hey, when you're chasing dreams, a little wake-up call is nothing.
Fast forward to the big day—we arrived at the station, buzzing with excitement, and joined the priority line. Ten minutes later, we were whisked inside, handed our uniquely highlighted tickets (still not sure what that was about!), and treated to some pre-show snacks—water, applesauce, and granola bars, oh my!
After signing a few waivers and mastering the art of phone etiquette (no phones during Drew's show, folks!), we made the trek up to the set. Four flights of stairs later (note to self: comfy shoes are a must!) we were sat. There were comfy chairs in the front on the floor and a bleacher area. I was in a group of 3 and for whatever reason they chose us to be front and center, ready to soak in every moment. We think it was because we followed the dress code unlike others attending (therefore if you wanna be up close, dress cute and follow the rules they send).
Before the cameras started rolling, we got the lowdown on when to laugh, when to clap, and even got to bust a move to some tunes. And then, like a ray of sunshine, Drew herself appeared! The energy was electric as the show unfolded, with two fabulous guests, giveaways, and Drew's infectious charm lighting up the set.
Sure, I may not have recognized the celebrity guests, but the experience? Priceless. And when Drew stayed back to chat and complimented my bestie's glasses (which, by the way, I totally own the same pair!), it was the cherry on top of an already unforgettable day.
As the curtains closed around 1:00 pm and we were ushered off-set, clutching our Blink camera giveaway (score!), I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience. Attending the Drew Barrymore show was an absolute blast—a dream come true, and then some.
